I am a sensitive and live with my extended family from the spirit world. Actually we get along very well! At the age of 8 years I began my life with the departed. My daughter started getting visits around 3 years of age. We (my daughter and I) are visited almost daily. Even some of my pets that have passed on have visited occasionally.

I'm Never Alone

As I laid down on my bed the other night, I just put my head on the pillow when I heard the key in my antique cabinet door turn and as I watched, the glass door opened all the way, slowly. The next day the shower upstairs turned on, which hasn't happened for quite awhile. I guess we have a clean ghost!
One night as I was talking on the phone sitting at my kitchen table, I felt something at the nape of my neck (which I thought was a couple of my long hairs that maybe got caught on the neckline of my nightgown). It was as if you took your index finger and wrapped a couple hairs around it and kept twirling them. So I ran my hand down the back of my neck and kept talking. Again I felt that twirling of my hair on the back of my neck and then realized thats exactly what was happening except no one was home but me, and as I ran my hand down the back of my neck again it (the spirit) brushed the top of my head as it flew right over me and left.

The Owl-----Harbinger of Evil

At Halloween, owls and cats travel with witches. In ancient Rome owls were considered harbingers of evil, while in Greece they were sacred. The owl was a familiar of Athene, Greek Goddess of wisdom. This may by why owls are thought of as being wise.

Europeans of the Middle Ages feared the glassy stare and eerie call of the owl, as the Romans had. The screech owl in particular made them think of witches. Screech owls nested in hollow trees, seldom giving a sign of their presence until nightfall. Their weird, trembling call and hollow whistle frightened travelers on lonely roads. It sounded so witchlike.

For witches, everyone agreed, often took other shapes.

Even today, superstitious people in some places believe the sound of the screech owl means death or disaster.
Along with cats, bats, and witches, the owl continues to stare at us in late October from greeting cards and party decorations, adding a bit to the eeriness of Halloween.............

A Real Kiss of Death---- All Hallow's Grim Blog Party 2011

I am a sensitive and live with my extended family from the spirit world. Actually we get along very well! At the age of 8 yrs I began my life with the departed. My daughter started getting visits around 3 years of age. We (my daughter and I) are visited almost daily. Even some of my pets that have passed on have returned occasionally.

One evening as I just layed down to watch some tv, I heard a couple of female voices whispering behind me. I picked up my head turned around and it stopped. I layed down again and the female whispers continued quietly but distinct, then they started laughing as if playing a joke on me! The whispering and the laughter was very very quiet, just loud enough to let me hear that they were with me. I knew at that moment exactly who they were! My husband had been very sick and when this happened, then I knew shortly I would be losing him. My husband died within a week of this ghostly visit and the voices I heard were his two deceased sisters getting ready to take him home.............

It was almost a week after my husband died, I was upstairs in my bedroom sleeping. Of course I slept with a lamp on next to my bed at this time and my bedroom door closed, since now I was alone. About 3 A M as I was sleeping, lying on my right side, something woke me up. I felt something on my left cheek pressing slowly. As I began to awake, I thought it felt as if someone kissed me on my cheek. When I opened my eyes I saw my husband walking out of my room right through my bedroom door. He kissed me goodbye.
There is another life after this one this I know for a fact!

Halloween Ornaments I just Finished

Here are two  little witches I made, they are spun cotton ornaments with clay faces. Their little pails are made from clay too. The girls are about 5 " tall.

I'm working on a dollhouse that we made for one of our daughters when she was small. Cute with mini wallpapers and pinks and blues. Not anymore she moved out, the dollhouse came down and i'm making it gothic and halloweeny! When its done i'll post pictures. So what would make a spooky dollhouse complete? A set of these gravestones that I sculpted from clay and painted. The tallest one is 1 1/2" tall.

My Blog Name

I decided to name this blog Knock Knock Street because its the first memory I have of a ghost, I think I might have been around 7 yrs old. I know now it was just a tale!

I bet my father got a kick out of taking us periodically to a street on the northeast side of Detroit called Strasburg Street.  The story was that a young girl was hit by a car and the driver unknowingly dragged her down this street, while she knocked to get the driver to stop. We would go in the evening, when it got dark. As we got to Strasburg street we would roll down the windows and dad would drive very slowly. All of a sudden there would be knocking on the side of the car and I remember one of those times jumping over the front seat to sit next to my father. It scared the heck out of us!
